The Beth-El Center seeks a Residential Counselor to work in its Shelter for the homeless. The Residential Counselor is responsible for the general oversight of the shelter for the duration of shift. The counselor maintains the security of the shelter and safety of its residents. The counselor must be awake and alert at all times to respond to the needs of residents, inquiries of visitors and crisis situations as needed. This is a part time, per diem position.
Position requires experience working with the homeless or other disadvantaged population. Person needs to demonstrate maturity, good judgment and ability to respond quickly and calmly in crisis situations and follow directions. Strong communications and conflict resolution skills required. Reliable transportation is required.
